چکیده

In well-planned open and semi-open urban areas, it is common to observe desire paths on the ground, which shows how pedestrians themselves enhance walkability affordance of road systems. To better understand these are formed, we present an agent-based modelling approach that simulates real pedestrian movement generate complex path By using heterogeneous ground visit frequency hotspots as environmental settings by agents, systems emerge from collective interactions between agents their environment. Our model employs two visual parameters, angle depth vision, guiding principles, global conception local adaptation. examine model’s parameters effects cost-efficiency emergent systems, conducted a randomly generated simulation validated observed in scenarios. The results show (1) (found be limited narrow range 90–120°) has more significant impact patterns than aligns with Space Syntax theories also emphasize importance for movement; (2) vision closely related scale-invariance different map scales; (3) negative exponential correlation efficiency positive costs. proposed can help planners predict or cost-efficient installations well- poorly designed areas may inspire further approaches rooted generative science future cities.

A General Framework for Agent-based Modelling of Complex Systems

Agent-based approaches to modelling complex systems and phenomena are becoming popular and are proving successful in a number of areas. However, the underlying basis of these techniques is sometime rather 'ad-hoc' and the models are often only applied to specific systems. This paper describes a general approach that is based on the use of fully general computational models, using a formal model...

Modelling Rational Agents in Multi-Agent Systems

This extended abstract gives an overview about my current and future research as well as a summary of my PhD thesis. The thesis is about rational agents in multi-agent systems where the main focus is on formal methods that allow for modelling and reasoning about such systems and its comprised agents. Several aspects of rational agency are treated, for instance, rational agents’ behaviors, coali...

Agent-Based Computational Economics: Modelling Economies as Complex Adaptive Systems

Agent-based computational economics (ACE) is the computational study of economies modelled as evolving systems of autonomous interacting agents. Thus, ACE is a specialization to economics of the basic complex adaptive systems paradigm. This paper outlines the main objectives and defining characteristics of the ACE methodology, and discusses several active research areas.
